Accommodation
The building, a former farmhouse, was built in 1880 and is a typical swartlands vernacular Victorian farmhouse, having thick clay brick walls, interior shutters and oregan pine floors and ceilings. Historical elements have been conserved as much as possible.
There are three en-suite rooms offering queen size beds with immense crispy Frette Irish linen sheets, showers and rooms furnished with fittings designed and made by crafts-people and artists from the Riebeek valley and Cape Town.
Two rooms contain an additional single bed so are suitable for two single persons or three persons.
Rooms are decorated with original two and three-dimensional works.

Costs
Accommodation costs from R250 per night per person sharing, including breakfast. Single persons using a double room are charged from R300 per night.

Breakfast
Breakfast consists of fruit juice, tea or coffee, scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, freshly baked olive and rosemary or fig and walnut bread, delivered just prior to breakfast. Our in-house olive tapenade and cocktail tomatoes cooked with oregan from the garden accompany the eggs.
A range of preserves especially made for the guesthouse is offered, including our famous double density strawberry lava jam.

Ordering bread to take home
The following Riebeek Valley breads can be ordered with a days notice for delivery on the morning of your departure for R12 per loaf:
Olive and rosemary
Fig and walnut
Sun-dried tomato
Green olive and cumin bread
Sourdough potato bread
Cracked wheat bread
Honey from the farm of the international photographer, Tracey Derrick can be bought for R25.

The Lounge
Inside the house there is a large comfortable lounge with a squishy sofa. The Stoep d’Amour at the top of the property enjoys morning sunlight as well as providing a romantic getaway in the evening for a glass of valley wine.
The long front stoep looks over the Kasteelberg and the afternoon setting sun. There is also a mulberry tree arbour next to the pool, and a tree house set in the branches of the large sycamore tree.
